Golf Challenge – More Than a Tournament
The Challenge consists of a one day 18 hole tournament of 46 four member teams and a two day workshop designed to teach PGA professionals and therapists how to help challenged players learn the game of golf.
The tournament matches three non-physically challenged individuals with a physically challenged player to form a four-member team.
The first day of the workshop provides classroom instruction on the benefits of adaptive golf and the mechanics of helping physically challenged individuals. The second day students get hands-on experience in helping physically challenged players on the golf course.
When and Where
Tournament day is typically the last Monday of September each year and located at Ashley Plantation in Botetourt County.
The adaptive golf workshop occurs the two days immediately following the tournament at Blue Hills Golf Club in Roanoke County.
